$6500 dollars for one of Americas best looking muscle cars is always a NP. A gentleman's muscle car, I would love to have this Cougar in my garage.

There are many cougars that I would like in my garage, and this is one.

Definite NP. Interior and wheels got to change though.

hmmmmmm
hmmmm
The Mercury obsessive says BUY BUY BUY but I'm a little hesitant for a few reasons, and maybe someone on here can help clarify
I'm under the impression the 302 Windsor block debuted in 1968. If you check wikipedia (yea I know iffy source, but I have nothing else available) you will see it says the 67 Cougar had a 302 option, but if you click on the Windsor engine line on Wiki it says the 302 debuted in 68.
I'd just double check that it's the correct engine (if you care) and then go do some burn outs in your gentleman's PONY car. That's no Muscle car my friend. Even with the same engine/trans as my Montego, it's a Pony, and the Montego is a Muscle.
And he's right about the teal interior with the red/white outside. I wonder what the original color codes are.

I think the 302 was a available in 67, a friend in my car club is building a 67 mustang coupe with a #s matching 302

ok that helps.
I was under the impression they were all 289's in 1967 and they made a 302 available as an option in 1968.

Right you are, MM. The '67 came with a 289, not a 302. IIRC, the 289 was the only engine choice for the first year.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I WON USED CLASSIC CAR INTERNET!

That was the Mustang. The Cougar debuted with only the 289 option. The '68s brought the 302.

NADA guide's concur with you, not listing the 302 as an option for the 67 cougar

See? Even a broken clock is right twice a day! :D

Muscle/pony it may be wrong of me but I consider them more or less interchangeable. At 6500 a numbers matching engine is by no means a huge concern. If I had the money and time I would paint the car teal to match the entire because I prefer teal to red. Gotta keep it unique!

Buy the Cougar and put them on your Montego! Or trade the Montego he does say he is open to trades.

Or repaint the car, I'd repaint the car a nice shade of teal.

To be honest, I'd probably make that trade. A fresh built 302 in a "working headlights" Cougar - hell yeah. I can attest to that little 302 launching the Montego which is damn near twice the size of this thing, would be a blast in this little Cougar.

It sure as hell would be easier/cheaper than swapping to a different interior color.
I think I'd either have to go with a teal or black exterior. I'd also paint the top, the white doesn't seem to fit.
(yes I'm aware we have 2 threads on the same post going lol)

YEAH!
Wait, which one of us is the broken clock? Or are we both the broken clock and we get to be right once a day...
